Audi Q7 battery died, do I have to go to the dealer?
Quote from Patrick Reed on April 1, 2026, 8:08 amWell, it finally happened. Went to start my Q7 this morning and all I got was that awful clicking sound and the dashboard lighting up like a Christmas tree. I managed to get it going with a portable booster pack but now I'm running on borrowed time. What's really annoying is that I know with Audis, especially the bigger ones like this, it's not as simple as just swapping out the old battery because the car's computer needs to be coded to recognize the new one. I've heard horror stories about people going to random battery shops and then their infotainment system acting up or the start-stop function never working again. I'm trying to avoid the dealership prices if possible because last time I checked they wanted nearly double what a specialist charges. Has anyone done an audi battery change recently around Dubai and found a place that handles the coding properly without charging an arm and a leg? I'm in the Marina area but honestly willing to drive out a bit for someone who knows these cars inside out and won't leave me stranded again in a week.
