Escalade gearbox started acting up right before a family trip and now I'm scrambling

I started searching around and found a place that offers proper Cadillac Transmission Service Sharjah over in Industrial Area 2 and they claim to have the right software to read the transmission control module and see if the clutch packs are wearing out or if it's just a solenoid issue that can be sorted without pulling the whole box out, and I'm honestly just trying to figure out if I should risk the trip and get it looked at when we come back or cancel everything and deal with the wrath of my mother in law who's been planning this gathering for a month. Anyone on here had their big American SUV transmission sorted in Sharjah and can tell me if it's a quick fix or if I'm looking at a week in the shop because I really don't want to be stuck on the side of the highway with a car full of kids and a very unhappy wife in this heat.
